Alfred James Funeral Directors is a fourth generation South Australian business. It was established in 1922 and has since grown to seven locations throughout Adelaide.

Throughout these years Alfred James has built a reputation for reliability, excellence and known for being at the forefront of the industry. In the early 1980s they developed and ran the first bereavement courses for professionals (police, health, ambulance) and the public. Around the same time they led the way in conducting funerals for still-born babies. They are proud of our 21 year association with Trees for Life and the innovative Memory Tree program that honours the lives of the people we have cared for.

In 2015, Alfred James and Sons were presented with a Historic Unley Business plaque, in recognition of their time on Unley Road, and their important contribution to the area, and greater Adelaide.
